When Jeremiah Grants first contacted us we were extremely excited to be involved in working on a project with such a rich history. This context and branding was a key element when it came to the design scheme. As a multifunctional bar and restaurant, we ensured it worked for all functions, parties as well as day to day. In keeping with the history and the building, our traditional scheme involved modern finishes, reclaimed and salvaged timbers as well as individually sourced vintage dressing items. Working with our finishers in the spray shop, we created bespoke table top, worktops and joinery items. Each item was distressed by hand, stained and lacquered; elevating the space from a traditional Irish pub to a space designed to transport you back to the time of Jeremiah Grant himself.
We were lucky to be involved in an exciting new chapter for this popular sports bar on Main street, Portlaoise. The design was to reflect the new brand direction while retaining the heritage and story of the highwayman Jeremiah Grant. Salvaged timber and steel pay a hearty tribute to Jeremiah’s audacious life of appropriation and incarceration while neon lights and slick tiles bring a contemporary twist to this one-of-a-kind bar + eatery.
